_____With the Isuzu VehiCROSS (or VX, as Isuzu calls it) you either love it, or hate it. Personally, I think it is the coolest, most futuristic SUV ever produced. The first VX I saw caused an immediate double-take and several hours of subsequent internet searching for pictures and information about this strange SUV. Very rarely does such an extreme design get put into production virtually unchanged from the concept. But that is exactly what happened with the VX. I bought my VehiCROSS in May of 2006, after I blew the motor in my 2000 Nissan Xterra. Having paid off the Xterra only a few months prior, I was angry, to say the least. I was really not looking forward to a new car payment. To add insult to injury, there was simply nothing new on the market at the time that interested me. But I needed a new vehicle as soon as possible. As it turned out, my wife reminded me of the VX. She knew I liked them, but I had pretty much forgotten about them, thinking they were too rare and too obscure. She started looking online and found one only a few miles from home. It was the right color with only 25,000 miles on the clock, and the rest is history.

_____As soon as I took ownership of my VX, the fun started. Only VehiCROSS owners know what I am talking about. I never imagined this vehicle would attract the kind of constant attention that the VX does. You would think it is a Ferrari. Whenever I take the VX out, I am constantly getting stopped and asked questions. People stare at it as I drive by. I've even caught people touching the cladding in parking lots. And this has never stopped. To this day I get stopped and asked about it whenever I am driving it.
_____After the horrible experience with my Xterra breaking down, I was determined to take the best care of my new VX. It was my VehiCROSS that ultimately got me interested in modding vehicles and working on them mechanically. Right from the start I had a vision for my VX. I knew I wanted an all black look, so right away, I started looking for different wheels. Over the next few years, I built up my VX to what it is today.
